Revisions & Sign-off

After sharing the initial mix, we'll work with you to make any adjustments you would like until you are fully satisfied.

Mastering (optional)

Once you sign off on the final mix, if chosen, we send it to our mastering partner who runs it through their $100,000+ mastering chain to add analog warmth and make any final adjustments.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I send my project?: First of all, please export a simple stereo mix (ideally wav or 320kbps MP3) of your project that you then can then attach to your order. That lets us get an idea about your project and the direction you're intending to go with it.
Once you received our confirmation email, you can send us the full multitrack. Export each track of your project with the following in mind:
Use the WAV format at 44.1 or 48 kHz, 24 bits
Disable all FX that are not part of the main character of the song (EQs, reverbs, compressors, etc.)
Effects that are part of your main sound (amp sims, tonal EQ, artistic reverb/delay throws, etc.) should stay on.
If you feel strongly about your panning positions, you can leave them baked in, or just let us know in the description when ordering. Otherwise feel free to export everything in the center, we'll pan them appropriately.
Any vocal editing (tuning, time-alignment, breath/click handling) should be done before sending the multitracks, unless you choose to order the optional vocal editing add-on.
When will I get my mix back?: For average-sized projects (10-30 tracks) usually the Mix 1 turnaround is 3-5 business days. For large projects 1-2 extra days may be needed.
While there is a possibility for an express-service, keep in mind that due to the nature of the mixing process, taking slightly longer will contribute to better results as it allows for more breaks & fresher ears.

What if I don't like the mix?: We're not happy until you are happy.
This is why 3 revisions are included by default for all orders. Just let us know what you'd like changed, and you will get an updated mix.
If for any reason you are not happy after the 3rd revision either, you can ask for a full refund.
Do I need mastering? Isn't a professional mix good enough?: Yes and no.
If you are budget-constrained, or would like to take your track elsewhere for mastering, we can make you a “Mastering Lite” version. This is your final mix, compressed, tone-shaped and limited, in software.
This is perfectly adequate for a commercial release.
If you can afford, however, a dedicated mastering engineer who never heard your track before can offer a second-opinion that can be invaluable. In addition, they have a dedicated analogue mastering chain, that can squeeze that last 10% of perfection from your track, to ensure it competes with the current hits on the radio.
Can you work with home-studio recordings and/or tracks downloaded from the internet?: Of course. As professionals, we should be able to work with whatever material the client brings.
Keep in mind though, that the the better the source material, the better the final mix will be. Mixing can improve tracks significantly, but there is a limit. If you want commercial-quality mixes, you need commercial-quality source tracks.
And in all cases, please make sure you have the rights to use whatever backing tracks / beats / samples you download from the internet.
